Community Initiatives
The Center provides resources, facilitation and funding for healthcare community initiatives for Northeast Ohio. These healthcare community initiatives for Northeast Ohio are part of what we do because community outreach and involvement is a crucial part of what hospitals do.
In 2010, member hospitals provided more than $200 million in charity care to the Northeast Ohio community. In addition to charity care, the hospitals of Northeast Ohio provide hundreds of community outreach and prevention programs at no cost to the community. Programs such as the ones listed below are focused on increasing awareness, detecting disease at earlier stages, and improving the health of our community.
Overall, the health and well-being of the Northeast Ohio community is important to our member hospitals and to The Center for Health Affairs. That's why The Center has developed healthcare community initiatives such as
-
Community Connect, which provides awareness and information on how to access and pay for care
-
Behavioral Health RoundTable, which is working to improve the delivery of behavioral healthcare services
-
Hospital Board Academy, which provides resources and support for those serving on hospital boards as they seek to strengthen the region's healthcare system
- and more. (See navigation to the left for a full menu)
