NEONI's High School Healthcare Job Shadowing Program

Job shadowing is an opportunity for students to learn first-hand about careers and job skills by actually spending time in the workplace. Through NEONI's Healthcare Career Shadowing Program, Northeast Ohio high school juniors and seniors have the ability to spend a day at one of several area participating hospitals interacting with professional healthcare practitioners in fields including: laboratory medicinenursingoccupational therapy, pharmacyphysical therapy, radiology and respiratory therapy.

This job shadowing program is offered free of cost to both schools and students in Northeast Ohio.
Since its inception in 2002, more than 5,000 high school students have shadowed in more than 20 hospitals.

Students who complete a job shadowing experience benefit in many ways including:

  • Learning about job possibilities within the healthcare field.
  • Interacting with professional healthcare workers.
  • Experiencing the workplace first-hand.
  • Formulating future goals for a career in healthcare.
