Student Nurse Orientation Manual
Schools and clinical agencies participating in StudentMAX™ have access to the Student Nurse Orientation Manual and Competency Exam.
This document has been developed by a NEONI committee consisting of educators from schools of nursing as well as educators and nurse clinicians from clinical agencies.
Even though there is constant change in the healthcare profession, there are issues and concerns that are common among all clinical agencies. Utilization of the Student Nurse Orientation Manual and exam aim to significantly reduce the amount of orientation time students spend at a clinical agency.
The Student Nurse Orientation Manual encompasses the basic elements of a hospital facility student nurse orientation program (safety, disaster, precautions, HIPAA) including a final test that can be used to meet JCAHO requirements. The faculty in the school of nursing will inform students how to use this manual and take the competency exam based on their school policies.
