The selection and evaluation of the chief executive officer (CEO) is one of the most important duties charged to board members. The resources contained in this section are designed to help assure board members have the necessary tools to both select the best leader and evaluate that leader on an ongoing basis.

CEO Evaluation Guide

Evaluating how well the CEO is fulfilling his/her duties is a primary responsibility of hospital trustees. To assist hospital boards in this role, the Iowa Hospital Association created this guide which includes tips on developing a CEO performance-based evaluation tool and a suggested CEO evaluation form.
