Philip Mazanec, Chief Operating Officer
In his nearly 30 years at CHA, Philip Mazanec has helped the organization achieve financial success and a prominent position in the Northeast Ohio healthcare community. As COO, he lends his leadership, experience and depth of knowledge to the broad portfolio of services to clients and members as well as to the organization’s internal operations. |
Mazanec joined CHA in 1979 as director of pension services and soon began upward mobility to reach his 1993 position, senior vice president. In this position, Mazanec was responsible for the growth in revenue of CHA’s business affiliate CHAMPS Management Services.
In 2003, Mazanec was named chief operating officer, a role that oversees CHAMPS; CHA member services, which includes the Northeast Ohio Nursing Initiative and bioterrorism initiative; and internal services, which is comprised of human resources, information technologies and facilities. As COO, Mazanec helps to foster change and plays the role of the needle and thread that strategically turns the company’s daily operations into solutions for CHA’s clients, member hospitals and Northeast Ohio health care community.
Mazanec’s long-term goal for CHA is to become a highly esteemed regional hospital trade association and make Northeast Ohio the nation’s finest regions for health care delivery and accessibility.
Mazanec earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from Kent State University and later attended the University of Notre Dame and Gannon University to earn his Master of Business Administration. Mazanec also has his post graduate certificate in health care administration from the George Washington University.
Mazanec resides in Chagrin Falls with wife Lisa and is the father of three grown children.
