Question #3:

I’m concerned that my hospital’s pre-existing commitments to schools for clinical site placements will remain in effect under the StudentMAX program.  How can I be assured that this will remain the same and schools we have given priority to in the past will not change?

Answer:

When a hospital begins the process to implement StudentMAX™, the facilitator completes a template of all COMMITTED and OPEN clinical site placements within their facility. This document is sent to the NEONI StudentMAX™ System Administrator for review and upload.  The hospital facilitator needs to make sure it is accurate before it is uploaded and after uploading, check again for accuracy. If any adjustments still need to be made, a quick call to StudentMAX™ system administrator (Sandy Anderson) will take care of any changes.

It is absolutely the prerogative of the hospital to ACCEPT or DECLINE a request from a school for clinical site placement. All pre-existing commitments by a hospital to a group of schools remain in place as long as the hospital desires affiliation. Facility or school-specific information related to requests for clinical site placement or final decisions (accept or decline) is kept confidential and will not appear on the StudentMAX™ site. Any further discussion about a declined request is between a hospital and school of nursing.
