Who, what, when, where, why:
The Center for Health Affairs will present a fundraising gala to support its NEONI (Northeast Ohio Nursing Initiative) program on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven in Mayfield Heights. The event will begin with a special VIP reception at 6 p.m., registration for those attending the gala only will begin at 7 p.m.

History:
Since 1916, The Center for Health Affairs (CHA) has been synonymous with leadership in healthcare advocacy. Programs pioneered by CHA continue to address issues that affect the delivery and efficiency of healthcare at the local, regional and national levels. NEONI is a program of CHA that promotes professional nursing and a regional healthcare workforce.
Purpose of the Event:
The goal of the event is to raise funds to support operating costs to ensure that NEONI can contribute its mission to create resources and programs that directly address the nursing shortage in our region. Some of NEONI's most recognized programs that benefit Northeast Ohio include NEONI Career Shadowing, StudentMAXTM, the North East Ohio Nursing Faculty Corps, and involvement in both local and state healthcare workforce initiatives.
Attendees:
Over 400 people from NEONI member organizations, companies that provide products and services to the healthcare industry, and other civic leaders who support the importance of professional nursing and healthcare attended the first gala in October 2006. The success of the first gala exceeded expectations by raising approximately $165,000. The goal for the 2008 event is to increase attendance to over 500.
Format:
Centered on a formal dinner, with time incorporated for socializing and networking. The highlight of the evening will be an awards presentation honoring a few of Northeast Ohio's most passionate advocates for nurses and the nursing industry. Other planned activities include a VIP reception for select ticket holders and a silent auction.
